It's good but not great. This kava has a different taste compared to other ones I have tried and it was only this last batch. What changed?

Some of the best kava I tried . Once the kavalactones build in the system it's awesome. I have been a kava drinker over 10 yrs now .

Strong solid kava. This grind precipitates in the wash more than usual so you need to be constantly stirring the grog. Because it is so strong and heavy, I like to blend it 50-50 with a light lawena or some Kana Tonga, with ice is even better. Excellent value for the price. Tastes like a strong yanqona, and is appropriately thick and bitter.

This is the only Kava product that I have purchased that I was unable to stomach. It is ground up way too fine, it's like flour almost. If you used a strainer most of it seeps through. I do not recommend at all.

I knew folks said KAVA taste bad, but dear god… Nothing makes this worth it. It’s so gross. Nothing about this brand in particular, but if you’re curious… Yes, it really is that nasty. I tried mixing with hot cocoa, almond milk, coffee creamer, a smoothie. I gave up. Giving the brand a 4/5 because I’m sure all Kava is as bad & I’m not gonna pick on them. :)

Taste isn’t bad but it has sediment no matter how I make it. I’ve tried kava straining bags as well as cheesecloth.

Getting this for the second time. Sampled some a few weeks ago and it's effects are great. I don't get all the taste comments on the reviews. It tastes like all the fijian kavas I have had but better. It's very fine so double straining is a must. I haven't had any stomach issues. I have been drinking kava for a long time and seeing how fine it is I double strain it I used my traditional fijian strainer then ran it through a poly strainer and it haven't had any stomach issues. I mixed this for my fijian friends didn't tell them the brand and they loved it. It's effects are great and little goes a long way. Great value. all in all great product and price is amazing. Most kava going for 40 to 50 a pound. This is a good deal.

This is a super fine ground. For some it can be difficult to filter. For me it's absolutely perfect it's almost like micronized kava.

This is strong stuff but like other reviewers, I taste kava extract instead of the earthy notes from a more properly ground kava.

The 2 pound bag is great value. Plus I got a pretty hefty first time discount for subscribing. I . set it for 6 months but will cancel it soon

Nice feeling, not anxiety provoking like some other kava strains. Caveat, this is not normal grind or typical in any way. Smells different, tastes different, and is very fine. I am wondering if it is dried kava juice on some sort of other powder. Seller can you chime in to clarify please?

So, the product is good. Pure finely powered high quality Kava, no clumps. Will you enjoy it? Perhaps. I brewed 3 tablespoons which ended up being 26gr, just short of 1 ounce. The package claims 3 tbsp should be 15gr, but powders are tricky when measured by volume. When I saw 26gr I decided to chug it anyway, YOLO. . It is recommended to brew it with warm water, I went with 60°C. Warm, but not enoght to burn my hands kneading it. I got myself a proper kava strainer bag, which I would encourage you do. These bags have a very fine mesh that you need. I let it sit 5 minutes, and then I kneaded it on the bag for 10 more minutes in a total of 750ml of water (about 25 oz). Drinking it can be a bit of a challenge taste-wise. First slurps went down alright, but as you approach half way you are dreading for that clay soup to be over. The final sip would never come. Took me like 25 minutes to finish it. About 1hr later the buzz appears, peaking about 2. 5hrs later. Calming? Maybe. Define Calming I would say. Buzzing. Yes, somewhat enjoyable. You remain fully functional but I wouldn't operate heavy machinery. The bag is huge, I'll probably never finish it, as I don't see myself drinking this very often. So, value for the money is pretty good -if you happen to like it!-

First I would like to say that the price is very good for the amount you're getting. I have tried at least 25 different brands prior to this. I have bought about eight bags of this. I am someone who gets anxiety from many different brands of kava but I do not from this. It is more calming and I sleep better on it and have better dreams. The effects are not overly strong but just right. With that said, it does not smell like most I have had. It states its traditional grind but it is not a medium grind. It is extremely fine and unfortunately even a 75 micron bag does not get enough of the sediment out. Because of this, it causes me ongoing digestive upset belching and gas and indigestion. Not pleasant in the least. And also seems to cause dermopathy, or the scaly dry skin faster than most other brands I've tried. I believe this is in part due to not being able to get the sediment out. I have tried a 75 micron bag and then straining it again through a 50 micron however it does not go through and only clogs it. I don't know how else to help strain it.

This is a big bag of pure Kava root powder. Of the Kava I've tried off of Amazon, this is definitely the best and tastes closest to professionally prepared Kava. You must use it with cheesecloth or strain it with another type of fabric (I have heard people using clean socks or old t-shirts). It requires massaging while the kava is wet, and then straining it out. I can tell it's the good stuff because my mouth becomes numb and tingly when I use it, and shortly after that I get the extreme calming and relaxing effects. There's no other way to describe the feeling for me but ethereal and mildly euphoric, like waves of calm coming over my body. It really helps me with stress and anxiety. I wish it was a little easier to prepare, but real kava just isn't easy. I have noticed, however, that I've gotten better with time at preparing this, it became easier and I mind doing it less. The effort is really worth the reward, and I'll probably order it again once the bag eventually runs out because it's the best I've found on Amazon so far, and I've tried quite a few Kava products.

Item: Taki Mai, Premium Noble Fijian Kava Root PowderThis Kava Root powder is a very fine powder. It can get everywhere just from opening the bag and can take a bit to get it to mix. I have been using Taki Mai Kava root powder for about 2 weeks now and can report no negative side effects. It is quite strong so maybe do a half serving size until you get used to it. Make sure you have a proper strainer for this powder as my usual strainer clogged up right away with this product and had to use a cheese cloth. I wish a strainer was included but it is not. Overall, I can recommend this Kava Powder for your everyday relaxation or social drinking get together.

First time trying Kava, but I had heard good things about it in my search for alcohol replacement to reduce my booze consumption. Package contains the stated weight of a very fine powder, which mixed easily in water. I strained it using a fine mesh stainless steel coffee filter, which was slow but resulted in a pretty clean result without a lot of sediment. Added some coffee creamer and down the hatch. Not the best tasting stuff, especially for someone with a queasy stomach like me. I drank half of it and within 15 minutes I began feeling a nice lil chillness and a slight buzz feeling. Nice. I could see this being a good addition to my mocktails. Might be worth making a big batch and freezing it into ice cubes so it can be added to a drink without going bad. I haven't shopped around much, so I don't know if the $80 price is too much. It comes out to about $1. 33 per serving if you follow the directions, which is a decent value. Comparable to a can of seltzer or cider. I can't attest to the quality, but it definitely performed well.
